The download Mac OS9 ISO post I made a while ago has been so popular I’ve decided to make OS X 10.3.5 available for download as well. I’m really surprised how many people are still looking for these retro mac downloads as I thought there would be many other places to get them. In fact you can download these files of apple.com but they are hard to find so here they are…

Steve Jobs Passes Away at age 56
When I first read this headline I really did have have trouble believing it. I checked the link to make sure it wasn’t from a link from theonion.com but sadly it is true the driving force of Apple.com has passed away. He will be missed.
PC like Macintosh Trojan Discovered
Gone are the days when I could confidently tell customers Macs don’t get viruses. I am going back a few years but there really was a time when Apple Macintosh exploits were unheard of. Real exploits anyway. I had read about proof of concept vulnerabilities but for one reason or another they never made it into the real world. As the popularity of Apple products in general has increased over the last few years however there have been more and more reports of exploits but but none of them have affected users on a large scale (as far as I ‘m aware) but I think that is all about to change.
Yesterday F-Secure published details of a PC like trojan that poses as a PDF file named ”OSX/Revir.A”. This Trojan successfully installs a back door while repeatedly opening a PDF to distract you, but the server the trojan is trying to contact isn’t functioning. But that could change at any moment making this Trojan a serious security threat.
I believe its just a matter of time before the Apple user base grows enough to motivate hackers to write truly effective exploits. It will be an interesting when that time comes because I know from experience that many if not most Mac users think exploits only apply to PC’s. Yes there are knowledgeable Mac users out there, of course there is, but I’m talking about the average user who isn’t the slightest bit technical, who just wants to post their pictures to Facebook and tweet every single thought that pops in their head. That’s fine, after all computers should be easy to use and that is exactly what the Macintosh has done.. it has made it much easier for non-technical users to get onto the Internet/Facebook. I applaud Apple for that but it potentially makes Mac exploits even more dangerous if only because a large slab of the user base is ignorant of even the possibility.

Hi I’m a Mac. I’m a PC. Any questions?
Ben Franklin-What kind of a man owns his own computer?
This is an advertisement for the Apple II computer which appeared in magazines including Scientific American in early 1980. Check out the CRT monitor but what is on the screen?
What kind of man owns his own computer?
Rather revolutionary, the whole idea of owning your own computer? Not if you’re a diplomat, printer, scientist, inventor… or a kite designer, too. Today there’s Apple Computer. It’s designed to be a personal computer. To uncomplicate your life. And make you more effective.
It’s a wise man who owns apple.
If your time means money, Apple can help you make more of it. In an age of specialists, the most successful specialists stay away from uncreative drudgery. That’s where Apple comes in. Apple is a real computer, right to the core. SO just like big computers, it manages data, crunches numbers, keeps records, processes your information and prints reports. You concentrate on what you do best. And let Apple do the rest. Apple makes that easy with three programming languages – including Pascal – that let you be your own software expert.
Apple, the computer worth not waiting for.
Time waiting for access to your company’s big mainframe is time wasted. What you need in your department – on your desk – is a computer that answers only to you… Apple Computer. It’s less expensive than timesharing. More dependable than distributed processing. Far more flexible than centralized EDP. And, at less than $2500 (as shown), downright affordable.
Visit your local computer store.
You can join the personal computer revolution by visiting the Apple dealer in your neighbourhood. We’ll give you his name when you call our toll free number (800) 538-9696. In california, (800) 662-9238. Apple Computer, 10260 Bandley Drive, Cupertino, CA 95104

Hello world!
Welcome to AppleHorror.com!
My name is MacDude and I created this Apple blog to tell you about Apple, Steve Jobs, Macintosh computers and “Shit like this, Steve”. I am an ex-apple technician so I can give you the inside dirt on what really goes no at Apple computer. The real deal, not the brown-nose religious Apple reviews typical on the Internet.
Love,
MacDude.
